The largest revenues were obtained from the export of meat and meat products.

“This result is due to many factors, including that Polish products are still competitive in price and good in terms of quality. The growth-promoting effect on Polish exports of agri-food products last year was the reduction, compared to 2022, of the negative impact of factors such as the costs of import of supplies, transport, energy and fuels" said Henryk Smolarz, director of KOWR.

According to KOWR, at the same time, the trends towards the appreciation of the Polish zloty against the euro had a negative impact on the price competitiveness of Polish agri-food products on the EU market. Also the duty-free access to the EU market for Ukrainian agricultural products was not without significance for Polish exports, which resulted in their greater supply on the EU market, which constituted price competition for domestic food products.

Poland's main trading partner in 2023 would be the European Union countries with 73% of exported food products equal to 38 billion EUR (7% year-on-year growth).

The largest recipient of Polish agri-food products was Germany (13.3 billion EUR and an increase of 11%).

Large importers of Polish food were also

  • the Netherlands (3.2 billion EUR, an increase of 2%),
  • France (3.0 billion EUR, an increase of 4%),
  • Italy (2.5 billion EUR, an increase of 7%). and
  • the Czech Republic (2.4 billion EUR, an increase of 9%).

Outside the EU market, the most important recipients of Polish food were: UK (4.2 billion EUR, an increase of 14%), Ukraine (1.03 billion EUR, increase by 9%) United States (870 million EUR, an increase of 13%).
