Agricultural Machinery and Sunflower Seeds Produced in Thrace will be Exported to Africa

A protocol was signed between Turkish and Sudanese delegations in order to export agricultural machinery and equipment produced in Thrace and registered sunflower seeds to Africa.

At the meeting held in Trakya Development Agency (TRAKYAKA), the Sudanese delegation and TRAKYAKA Secretary General Mahmut Şahin, Trakya Foreign Trade Platform Chairman Erdoğan Ören, Trakya Tohum Inc. Manager Birol Tarar and Trakya Seed Association Chairman İbrahim Toruk came together.

On the occasion of the meeting, an agreement was signed for agricultural machinery and equipment and registered sunflower seeds to be sent from Thrace to Sudan and distributed to 19 African countries from there.

In his statement to reporters, Şahin said that senior officials from Sudan's Al Jazeera region paid a working visit to Thrace. Stating that they have been holding bilateral meetings with Sudanese authorities for about a year, Şahin explained as follows:

"Agreements have been signed between the delegation of Sudan's Al Jazeera region, which has been in consultation in Thrace for a while, and Trakya Foreign Trade Platform and Trakya Tohum Inc.. Within the scope of the agreements, agricultural machinery and equipment and registered sunflower seeds will be exported from Thrace to the Al Jazeera region. Thanks to the agreements and reconciliations, a trade volume of approximately 50 million dollars will be created. In case of penetrating into Sudan market, you could sell duty-free goods to 19 African countries around it.”
