Pumpkin Fest is a new perspective for the rural areas in their transition from coal mining towards more eco-friendly alternatives, entrepreneurship and sustainable production.
Embassy colleagues from the agriculture and political departments visited the incredible village of Malomykolayivka in Dnipro region. The village celebrated its 245th birthday with their annual Pumpkin Fest.
In 2020 Malomykolayivka was the winner of the “Incredible villages of Ukraine” competition, organized by the AgroPortal.ua, and supported by the Embassy.
The Pumpkin fest was a very enjoyable milestone in the “incredible villages” project, aimed at producing candied fruit from locally grown pumpkins, fruits and berries. This project helps to offer a new perspective for the people in their transition from coal mining towards more eco-friendly alternatives.
