Romanian Sapte Spice company makes EUR2.5M investments

Sapte Spice, one of the largest manufacturers on the Romanian milling market, is investing EUR2.5 million in 2021 in developing new products and in automation, according to company representatives.

The first product on the market is a range of professional flour for pizza, which can be bought in Selgros, Cora and Carrefour store chains.

In 2020, the company completed an investment of RON20 million in a new state-of-the-art mill, located in Ramnicu Vacea, which boosted the milling capacity by 70% from 250 tons per day to 350 tons per day.

The company currently carries out a project worth EUR2.5 million, which includes automations in the packing and palletizing area, for both B2B flour and for the range of flour for home use.

Sapte Spice has four mills in Romania, in Iasi, Brasov, Targu Jiu and Ramnicu Valcea, managing to meet market needs across the country, due to its annual milling capacity of over 200,000 tons.

The company was established in 2007, as a spin-off of the milling division, within Vel Pitar Group, leader on the local milling and bakery market.

The company’s portfolio includes flour brands 7 Spice, Grau Întreg, as well as those of the newly developed COROANA range, such as Ducesa, Principesa, Domnita, Regina and Contesa, per data on the company’s website. It also includes mixes, premixes, enhancers or ingredients such as wheat semolina or wheat bran.
