The market study will be implemented to assist Dutch businesses in establishing close cooperation with local authorities and private enterprises in Ukraine.

In many cases, the Dutch companies lack understanding of local laws and public procedures, and this is true not only about Ukraine. Situation may be complicated by lack of knowledge of the local language and circumstances.

The study will be ready in January 2021. A webinar will be organized in February 2021 to present the results. Please follow our announcements!

The initiative will also include a fact-finding mission and creation of consortium of Dutch companies for joint work in Ukraine. We see prospects for implementation of landscaping projects in public places in cooperation with the local authorities and local communities. This offers new opportunities for Dutch businesses.

We believe that by joining forces with local partners in Ukraine, with the aim to help the Ukrainian cities and villages become more comfortable, the Dutch companies will make a significant contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 11 Sustainable Urban and Community Development and Goal 13 Combating Climate Change.

Supporting Dutch producers and exporters of ornamentals is among the key priorities of our work in Ukraine

During the webinar «Urban Greening in Ukraine — A guide to navigate you through the jungle of municipal regulations» during Business Week Central and Eastern Europe, the Agricultural Counsellor in Ukraine Mr. Reinoud Nuijten shared initiatives that have already been implemented in Ukraine: bilateral meetings and trade missions, organization of Netherlands pavilions at the specialised exhibitions in Ukraine, etc., and highlighted how Dutch companies can expand their activities in Ukraine.

Three important steps.

First. «Homework»

The Ukrainian market is full of opportunities, but at the same time it is full of risks and features that distinguish it from the EU market. We always ask Dutch companies to do their «homework» and study the available information. Back in spring 2019, together with RVO, we conducted a study of the market of flowers and ornamental plants in Ukraine.

Second. «Local partner».

A reliable local partner is very important for doing business in Ukraine. Of course, the corona crisis has made adjustments for both exhibitions and private business meetings. And, I am convinced, opportunities are ahead. It is necessary to come to Ukraine and establish cooperation with future partners.

Third. «Partnerships in International Business”.

Local authorities and local communities in Ukraine are actively developing spatial planning projects. Greening of cities, OTGs, villages, landscaping in public places offers new opportunities for Dutch companies if they join forces.

More about this initiative and the first findings of the study presented by Pieter Hellferich and Arno Klijbroek during the webinar.

Developing partnership in the international business is an initiative of the Dutch government, during which the market study of urban landscaping in Ukraine is conducted.

The results of the study will help Dutch businesses establish close cooperation with local authorities and private enterprises in Ukraine. Often, Dutch companies face a lack of understanding of local laws and public procedures (and this is not just about Ukraine). This is complicated by ignorance of the local language. Market research also includes a trade mission and the creation of a consortium of Dutch companies in Ukraine.

The results of the study will be available in January 2021. We are organizing another webinar for their presentation, please subscribe to our page not to miss it.

Why is this important?

We see prospects for implementation of landscaping projects in public places in cooperation with local authorities and local communities. This is an opportunity for Dutch companies.

«Solving global challenges together». This is the new slogan of the Dutch government.

We are convinced that by joining forces with local authorities in Ukraine, Dutch companies will be able to make a significant contribution to achieving the UN Goals (Sustainable Urban and Community Development (11) and Combating Climate Change (13)), to expand their activities in Ukraine, as well as to help Ukrainian cities and villages become more comfortable to live.
