"The State Environmental Inspectorate can conduct an unscheduled check within three months after the submission of documents by business entities and check the compliance of the information with the actual state of affairs," head of the inspectorate Andriy Maliovany said.

He added that the State Environmental Inspectorate is currently fixing this new function in its position.

According to the expert, this law was adopted in the framework of the approximation of Ukrainian legislation to European, in particular the introduction of Directive 2003/87/EC on the compulsory creation of a greenhouse gas emission trading system.
