Ukrainian poultry products marked "without antibiotics".

Since beginning of 2020, the Ukrainian poultry producers undergoing external monitoring of antibiotic residues in feed, water, end products and poultry products throughout the production cycle.

Association of Poultry Farmers of Ukraine, with the support of FAO, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as the State Consumer Service of Ukraine developed and approved requirements for poultry farming without the use of antimicrobials and standard operating procedures for verifying compliance of poultry farm facilities with these requirements.

Since January 2020, the Association of Poultry Farmers of Ukraine initiated controlled monitoring of antibiotic residues in feed, water, end products and poultry products throughout the production cycle at its member enterprises. According to the results of the audit, enterprises that will meet the established quality requirements will be able to apply labeling to the food of their enterprise. Business audit results will be available to all consumers on the Association's website.

According to the results of the audit, the enterprise will be entitled to mark poultry products as produced without the use of antibiotics.

"A" - the use of antibiotics is prohibited at both the parent flock and productive birds;
"B" - antibiotics are allowed for the purpose of treatment of the parent flock;
"C" -  allowed the use of antibiotics when grown on a productive herd.

This process was initiated by the PJSC Volodymyr-Volynsky Poultry Factory, agricultural holdings MHP, and Ovostar Union.

Since March 7, 2020 the EU restored import of poultry meat from Ukraine.
