Holland Experience Center near Maanshan City

Co-organized 'Sino Dutch Business Information Sharing Meeting' with Holland Center, Mr. Remco van Wijngaarden, Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Shanghai, and Mr. Wouter Verhey, Agriculture Counselor in Beijing, attended a meeting on 17 Oct, in Shanghai.

Purpose of the meeting was to inform Dutch companies and organizations about the “Wellness Cove Project” in Maanshan city, east China’s Anhui province. The project aims at developing a Holland Experience Center focusing on agri & food, nutrition & health, sports, lifestyle and arts in a newly built Wellness City opposite Yangtze River of the old Maanshan city, according to Mr. Fang YUAN, Mayor of Maanshan. More than 60 people were present, and they were from 31 different companies or organizations.

Mr. Remco van Wijngaarden in his speech memorized the groundbreaking ceremony of Corpus (journey through the human body) in June, being the first Dutch company present in the Wellness City and due to be opened next year November. He called for more involvement from the Netherlands sector and believes that the Dutch business sector has a lot of knowledge to offer in that respect. Mr. Aalt Dijkhuizen, Chairman of Top Sector Agri & Food and co-director of the Holland Center, explained the strength of the Netherlands in these fields and recommended the project to the audience. Edward Zhu, CEO CHIC group and co-director of the Holland Center, presented the master plan for the Wellness City and the opportunities for companies and organizations that join.

Maanshan City (Anhui Province) is located at the Yangtze River, 45 kilometer north to Nanjing and 260 kilometer east to Shanghai and has 2,300,000 inhabitants.
