FrieslandCampina Romania sales grow 8% in 2018

FrieslandCampina Romania, one of the top five dairy producers in Romania, had a turnover of RON416.8 million in 2018, up 8% on the year, mainly due to its Napolact Bio organic line (local brand name). “2018 was a record year for Napolact, the best in the last decade. Last year we launched fruit yogurts in the Napolact BIO line,” said marketing director Razvan Orbulescu.

The Napolact brand generated over 75% of sales for FrieslandCampina Romania in 2018. The company works with over one thousand farms, of which around 400 are certified organic.

FrieslandCampina invested over EUR300,000 in 2017-2018 in projects and programs helping farmers in Transylvania develop sustainable business models.

“We only use milk from farms in Transylvania for Napolact products and our partnerships with farmers are essential,” said general manager Cornel Caramizaru.

In 2018, the company's main shareholder injected EUR20 million capital in the Romanian division, plus a EUR1.5 million investment in raising production capacity, programs for farmers and product development.

FrieslandCampina Romania is part of Dutch Royal FrieslandCampina, one of the top dairy producers in the world.

FrieslandCampina is present on the Romanian market with the brands Napolact, Frico, Milli, Oke and Dots.
