Serbian agro food companies at PLMA fair in Amsterdam

Agro food sector is gaining on importance in Serbia. Number of the companies producing fresh and processed fruits and vegetables are increasing. At the end of May Serbian companies took part at Private Label International Trade Show & Conference (PLMA) in Amsterdam.

Serbian stand hosted 15 companies exhibiting fresh, frozen, chilled food and dry food products, as well as non-food products. They had nearly 500 bilateral talks and meetings with potential business partners. Meetings were held with representatives of the world's leading store chains from the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and Russia. According to the initial analyses, agreed exporting arrangements are worth around EUR 3 million.

Well known soft fruit products were part of exhibition.

Embassy is working on the PIB project in the soft fruit sector hoping to open this promising Serbian sector for numerous Dutch companies: from planting material and equipment to consultancy  services and knowledge transfer. Hopefully, we will create opportunities for the Dutch agro businesses to intensify cooperation with Serbian partners. Surely, more berry fruit products can be expected at the Serbian stand in Amsterdam in years to come.
