NL-Food Security Alliance

The NL-Food Security Alliance (NL-FSA) is a network of mainly Dutch based companies and institutions collaborating in creating exclusive, profitable and sustainable solutions for the agri-water-food business.

Food security is one of the biggest challenges for the coming years worldwide as acknowledged by the Sustainable Development Goal: Zero Hunger. Food security challenges are exacerbated by Climate change and impact first the most vulnerable segment of the population particularly in Africa.

Unique collaboration

The NL-FSA offers a unique collaboration between the key partners from private sector, NGO’s and Knowledge Institutes. The focus of the NL-FSA is to develop large, financial viable projects that are based on a business case to secure food production locally. In close cooperation with governments from the Netherlands and the partner countries, the NL-FSA will strive for long term programmatic approach. Always in close cooperation with the external stakeholders, individual funding sources can be aligned to increase the synergy and impact interventions.

Why the Alliance?

Bring together different partners case by case, country by country, because:

  • Many companies and entities are experts in a narrow field
  • Today’s world is too complex for single companies to change an industry
  • Offer an overall one-stop solution by combining these partners
  • Only work with long-term vision partners
  • The combined synergy offers better value
  • Make the difference for the World Water Food challenges

The alliance strives to achieve its goals and at the same time contribute to the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). The NL-FSA performs in a sustainable manner with respect for people, the environment and climate change. Providing solutions for climate change, migration, food security and growth retardation is achieved by improving human needs, creating jobs and raising the value of water, agro and food. The NL-Food Security Alliance collaborates, in Europe as  well as Africa, with finance institutions, governments, donors, local governments, businesses and private investors.
