Ukraine exported agricultural products for $12.9 billion in 2018.

Netherlands remains the biggest EU importer of agricultural products from Ukraine.

In 9 months of 2018 Ukraine exported agricultural products for $12.9 billion, reported the press service of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food.

"According to the results of the first nine months of 2018, export figures showed slight decrease compared to the same period last year. However, this year harvest gives us every reason to expect results [of export] not lower than the level of last year," said OlhaTrofymtseva Deputy Minister for European Integration of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

According to the Ministry, the biggest share of agricultural exports is directed to the Asian countries (43.5%, top importers are India, China and Turkey), the second place is occupied by the EU countries (31.8%, biggest importers are to the Netherlands, Poland and Italy).  Africa accounts for  significant share of exports (13%, the main importers are Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco).

According to the ministry, traditionally grains (37%), oils (24.1%) and oilseeds (10.3%) take the biggest share in the Ukrainian export.

In 2018, export volumes increased in the following categories: rapeseed (a rise of 15.2%), meat and offal of poultry (a rise of 29.3%), eggs (a rise of 73.9%), mustard oil and rapeseed oil (a rise of 83.9%), nuts (a rise of 79.4%), chocolate and other products with a cocoa content (a rise of 21.3%), soybean oil (a rise of 18.3%), margarine (a rise of 31.9%), sugar confectionery (a rise of 20%), butter and other fats made from milk (a rise of 16.3%), bakery, confectionery (a rise of 12%), and natural grape wines (a rise of 46.5%).
