Spain first fruit supplier to the EU

In the last campaign the total volume of fruits purchased by the EU was 57,547 million kilos, worth 74,752 million euros. Spain supplied 10,755 million kilos for 12,570 million euros, well ahead of the second one, the Netherlands.

The Netherlands ranked second with 5,735 million kilos and 8,280 million euros. Italy was in third place with 3,700 million kilos and 4,223 million euros.

However, Spanish fruits were sold cheaper (average price of 1,169 €/kilo) than Turkey (average price of 2,311 €/kilo), France (1,232 €/kilo), the Netherlands (1,444 €/kilo) and Morocco (1,178 €/kilo).
