Aiming to have a circular economy by 2050, the Netherlands has become one of the most active and ambitious European countries in implementing the circular economy package of actions adopted last year by the European Commission during the Dutch presidency of the European Council.

The circular economy responds to the most pressing issue of the 21st century: efficient use (and reuse) of raw materials in order to provide food and goods for a decent living of the population, without harming the environment and not exhausting the planet natural resources.

To inspire and get inspired about the specific activities of the circular economy, especially in the agri-food and water sectors, the Embassies of the Netherlands in Bucharest and Sofia organise between 21st-24th of November 2017 a series of Inspirational sessions to promote Circular Economy in Romania and Bulgaria.

The events will take place in Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, Bucharest and Sofia and are organized with the support of agricultural universities in these cities and with the contribution of the European Commission, Wageningen University and Research and of various Dutch and Romanian circular business developers.
