Lactalis Iberia to double its organic milk collection in 2020
The group confirms its effort to keep growing in the category of organic milk, as announced in mid-2015, in which it is present through its mark ‘Puleva Eco’.
Thus, the multinational expects to double its collection of organic milk by 2020, a year in which 20 million liter are expected to be reached. According to company’s sources, this volume would consolidated it as “category leader in Spain”; its current market share is 57.1%. The progressive increase in milk collection will occur thanks to the conversion of 30 famers to be added to the 50 already certified for the production of ecological milk.
At the moment, the presence of the group in organic dairy products is limited to drinking milk, although its CEO in Spain “doesn’t exclude future launchings since the Spanish market demands more and more products manufactured with this type of milk”.
