The import duties of several agricultural products has been lowered
Referring to the Turkish Official Gazette of 27/06/2017, the Turkish Ministers Council has decided to lower the customs duties of several agricultural products in order to protect the local market from the price speculators.
The custom duties of live animals (cattle) lowered to 26%, carcase meat lowered to 40%, wheat lowered to 45% and barley to 35%.
It is expected the government will use the import option only if the price speculations will be seen, their idea is not to start the imports immediately, especially not during the start of the harvest session.
