National Banana Conference

The National Banana Conference is organized by the Ethiopian Horticulture Producer Exporters Association (EHPEA) under the theme: " From Bunch to Breakthrough: Positioning Ethiopia as a Global Banana Export Powerhouse". The conference will be held on August 20, 2026 from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., at Hilton Hotel, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

This national conference will bring together key stakeholders from government institutions, producers, exporters, cooperatives, financial institutions, research and academic institutions, development partners, investors, and other actors across the banana value chain. The conference aims to provide a platform for discussing the current status of Ethiopia's banana industry, reviewing global market opportunities and trends, identifying key production and export challenges, and developing strategic recommendations to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of the sector.

The conference will feature keynote presentations, technical sessions, panel discussions, and experience-sharing on topics including global market demand, production and productivity, quality and phytosanitary standards, certification, logistics, financing, value addition, investment opportunities, and policy support for the development of Ethiopia's banana industry.
