As part of the event, the Berry & Fruit Academy lecture day will be held on Wednesday, in Ternopil, just before the HortiTech Ukraine 2026 conference day.
Controlled Environment Agriculture
A significant part of the conference program will be devoted to Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) : the latest modern solutions for growing berries and vegetables from Ukrainian and international experts.
The focus is not on individual technological solutions, but on integrated production systems for all areas of protected soil and horticulture.
Conference participants are increasingly focusing on:
- production stability regardless of climatic fluctuations;
- preserving fruit quality and presentation;
- energy efficiency and resource conservation;
- automation, monitoring and microclimate management;
- practical cases of using covers in berry orchards, vegetable greenhouses, orchards, vineyards and flower farms.
These topics and approaches reflects the general state of the market: growing under cover is no longer a narrow technology for individual crops. It is a universal tool for increasing the stability, quality and predictability of agricultural production, which requires systemic knowledge and professional dialogue.
It is on this basis that the program of the conference.
What is CEA?
This means an approach to agricultural production in which key factors for plant growth (temperature, light, moisture, nutrition, gas composition) are managed systematically, and do not depend on weather conditions. We are not talking about separate structures, but about a holistic production model. CEA covers greenhouses of various levels of technological sophistication, film tunnels, vertical farms, hydroponic and aeroponic systems, as well as gardens, berry orchards, vineyards and flower farms under cover.
