Livestock:

The domestic livestock industry is facing difficulties when the price of animal feed has risen over the past time.

At the beginning of March, animal feed companies simultaneously notice consumers about the price increases, with an increase of VND300-400/kilogram, and some companies with an increase of VND600 – 800/kilogram.

This is the latest and highest price increase ever for animal feed, and is the 5th consecutive month that companies announce price increases to consumers. Along with small farming and no linkage, investment cost for farming will be high while risks are increasing, which might lead to losses.

Plantation:

According to authority of Phu Yen Province, up to this point, local farmers have harvested 3,700 hectares of red beans.

This year, the weather is favorable, so the yield of red beans reaches 12 quintals/hectare, which are 4-6 quintals/hectare higher than the previous year. The selling price is VND25,000/kilogram, an increase of VND10,000/kilogram compared to 2 years ago.

According to many farmers, red beans are easy to grow with different types of soil, so they are often grown on hilly and wasteland areas. Without much care, investment cost, or chemicals, farmers can harvest red beans in January and at the end of February of the lunar calendar.

Fruits:

Luc Ngan litchi of Bac Giang Province has just been granted a geographical indication in Japan. This will create favorable conditions for this product to be exported to Japan and expand consumption to other markets.

It is known that the whole Luc Ngan District currently has more than 15 thousand hectares of litchi. In particular, many organic-production areas follow GlobalGAP, VietGAP, and organic processes to help produce both good-looking and high-quality products to meet the needs of domestic consumption and export.

Currently, the rate of litchi flowering reaches over 90% rate, with good growth and development. Local farmers are concentrating on measures to care for litchi and help them bear fruits.

Living and Environment:

In order to develop the marine economy sustainably, the work of conserving biodiversity, protecting and rationally exploiting marine resources has been identified as the urgent tasks. These are also the targets of projects on marine conservation that Quang Ninh Province has implemented in recent years.

These solutions are to be deployed in Bai Tu Long National Park, Co To Marine Reserve, Tran Island, and other local areas.

Up to now, mollusk reserves in some local areas have entered a stable stage. Some rare and precious aquatic species with high economic value such as abalone, sea cucumber have also recovered well.

Pet, Flowers and Ornamental Plants:

Responding to the movement of “planting Ochna integerrima in front of the alley", many people in Hue Province did not hesitate to buy Ochna integerrima trees that are worth a few tens of millions to billions of Vietnamese dong.

The current demand from players is very large, so the Ochna integerrima-growing regions in Thua Thien Hue Province might not meet this large demand.

Currently, establishments planting and trading Ochna integerrima and ornamental plants are expanding the scale of their gardens and nurseries to ensure the demand for Ochna integerrima of local residents.
