Plantation:

Farmers in My Le Commune, Can Duoc District, Long An Province harvest “Nang Thom Cho Dao” rice to serve the Lunar New Year market in 2021.

“Nang Thom Cho Dao” is a seasonal rice and only grown in one crop per year. The growing time of this species is about 6 months. “Nang Thom Cho Dao” rice is mainly farmed in My Le Commune, Can Duoc District on an area of nearly 400 hectares.

This year, with favorable weather and the implementation of the “Nang Thom Cho Dao” rice restoration project, farmers apply science and technology to their production according to VietGAP standards. Local farmers limit the amount of chemical fertilizers and register trademark for their exclusive rice product.

Fruits:

Growing vegetables and fruit trees in fresh water areas during the current disaster period is facing many difficulties. Yet, Do Van Ngoi in Nguyen Phich Commune, U Minh District, Ca Mau Province has successfully planted more than 1,000 tangerines on shrimp farming land.

According to the development cycle, tangerines are planted for about 2 years to bear fruits. However, in the following years, tangerines often have higher yields. Currently, Do’s tangerine garden has been harvested for 2 years.

This year, Do harvested over 1 ton of tangerines. The yield was higher than the first year. After being harvested, the output of tangerine is consumed stably and is directly purchased by traders in his garden. Currently, the price of tangerine sold directly in his garden is VND25,000/kilogram.
