Softlanding Program for International Startups
Skolkovo Softlanding Program for international companies – is a special Program to support foreign companies willing to expand to the Russian market or, at least, to learn about doing business in Russia. Skolkovo Softlanding Program bridges the gap between startups from all around the world and the opportunities available to them in Russia.
The program helps innovators, small and medium-sized companies to find their success in the Russian market by connecting them to the Russian companies, investors, business angels, mentors, partners and professionals.
Agriculture is one of six industrial areas covered by the program. Beside Agriculture, the following technologies domains are available: Energy efficiency, Information technologies, Nuclear and radiation technologies, Space technologies and telecom, Biomedical technologies.
The Program is free of charge and fully online as travel restrictions remain strict. As soon as the borders are open, foreign companies will be invited to join the program offline. The duration of the Program is one week, it’s short but productive.
Usually, there are three Programs a year: in March, June and October. So far it has been 8 cohorts with 170 companies from 45 different countries. The next cohort will be launched in October.
According to Maksim Romanov, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Skolkovo Foundation, participation in the program will help startups quickly integrate into Russian realities and reduce costs. Foreign participants of the program will get acquainted with the advantages that Russian residents of Skolkovo traditionally receive. These are the services of the Intellectual Property Center, legal support, accounting services, customs privileges, collective use centers with equipment for scientific and technical work. The participants will get acquainted with the rules of doing business in Russia, as well as ways to reduce possible risks when creating a Russian legal entity.
