Today is the Pancake Day- also in Poland!

The Pancake Day traditionally precedes Ash Wednesday. In Poland, Fat Thursday heralds a farewell to the carnival and abounds in sweet pleasures, but the pancakes follow the tradition of donuts (“pączki”) which is typical for Fat Thursday.

In 2019, Poles ordered 110% more pancakes through the Uber Eats application than in the previous year. On the list of the top 10 the most frequently ordered toppings for pancakes there are sweets, but there were also surprises:

6. Banana
7. Mascarpone
8. Sugar
9. Onion
10. Chicken
Every year, pancakes are becoming more and more popular. Poles order French crepes, American pancakes and Mexican tortillas in many variants. Since the start of the Uber Eats service in Poland in 2017, the number of orders of pancakes has increased 10-fold, and in the entire region of Central and Eastern Europe 18-fold. In Poland, the Uber Eats service has been operating for 3 years. The first city in which Uber Eats started was Warsaw. Today it is available in 20 cities in Poland. In addition to the capital, these are: Kraków, Poznań, Wrocław, Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot, Łódź, Katowice, Lublin, Bydgoszcz, Toruń, Gliwice, Sosnowiec, Zabrze, Białystok, Szczecin, Rzeszów, Kielce and Radom.
