He also expresses great appreciation to the Dutch farmers in Ukraine who support the country at the same time contribute to global food security.

'To ensure that Ukraine recovers and can continue to provide Europe with food, it is important that Europe and the Netherlands continue to invest in the country. In the interest of the continent, it is important to draw Ukraine to Europe', - believes Reinoud Nuijten.

He says, 'The great danger is that we might be inclined to wait or phase out the entire country. If that happens, the economy will collapse even more and you will have problems squared. Then you get permanent outages, especially in the Eastern Ukraine.'

'Food security then becomes an even bigger issue, and this also means a financial flow to our own companies. That's why we need to help as much as possible to keep the economy going. As an EU, but also as the Netherlands. Our companies there are part of the solution.'
