1st European Circular Economy Forum Ukraine

This forum took place in Kyiv on 4 Ocotober. Dutch speakers on circular economy shared knowledge on circular AgriFood, Fashion and cities.

Businesses, NGOs, government and consumers are the driving force of development of circular economy.
Governments make commitments to switch to circular economy without knowing what it actually means. But it is in their power to create the necessary scarcity to stimulate sustainable use of resources and introduce the rules that it pays back to recycle and reuse.

  • What is urban metabolism and urban mining, clean 🚤 , and smart district🌆.
  • How to measure circularity of the buildings 🏢at the stage of design.
  • Why soon we will grow our clothing 👗👚in the backyard, rent our jeans 👖and use clothing libraries.
  • 45% of fruit 🍎🍐🍓and vegetables 🍆🌶🥕grown worldwide are thrown away! But Dutch business model of using vegetables with non-ideal looks is emotionally 😋engaging.

There was a lot of Dutch experience present at the European circular economy forum, see more at https://www.facebook.com/events/88060.

Netherlands aims at 50% reduction of primary resource use (minerals, metals, fuels) in 2030.

We thank ReThink for this important initiative and to the Dutch key-note speakers who made their way from the Netherlands to be in Kyiv today.
