Before his posting in Kyiv Mr. Nuijten worked as International trade and development specialist with extensive experience in value chain development and export promotion projects. Particular experience in public private cooperation and institutional capacity development. Over 10 years of experience in project management in amongst others, the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe and the Middle East / Northern Africa.
He was active as representative of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Business Development and Trade Panels of Platform 2 (Economic integration and convergence with EU policies) of the EC Eastern Partnership, as well as occasional trainer/ advisor on SME internationalization and clustering.
- 2008-2019 - Programme Manager at Eastern Europe and Asia Department, Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI), Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). Focus: Initiation and management of multi-annual programmes in the field of export development - and promotion in wine sector (Armenia, Georgia, Macedonia and Moldova, Apparel (Ukraine) and the Fruits & Vegetables sector (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine). All programmes /project have the objective to develop, brand and promote the products from these countries and increase their exports on the EU market.
- 2005-2008 - Economic Advisor at Carnegie Consult, Compliance Manager, Amsterdam Trade Bank, The Netherlands.
Reinoud has background in International Comparative Governance, Economics and Law. University of Leiden (2001-2004); Msc In Public Administration.
Reinoud is married, he is a happy dad of 3 kids. He has a broad interest in things, exploring cultures and cities, listening to all sorts of music, reading books, watching (history) documentaries. Last but not least he is a fond user of electronic gadgets.
