The Netherlands Embassy in Kazakhstan organizes agricultural trade mission to Tajikistan

The Netherlands Embassy in Kazakhstan, which is also accredited to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, is planning to organize an agricultural trade mission to Tajikistan in spring 2020, provided there is enough interest. Participation in the trade mission is open to all Dutch companies active in the agricultural sector: poultry, dairy, animal feed, fruit and vegetables production, fruit and vegetables storages, agricultural consultancy, etc.  

Dutch agro business and market opportunities in Central Asia

Tajikistan is a fairly new emerging market in Central Asia for Dutch agricultural business. However, quite a number of Dutch companies now express their interest to explore Tajikistan market and look for more opportunities in this country as well as in other countries of Central Asia like Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

Agriculture of Tajikistan at a glance

Cattle is involved in 59% of agricultural production since pastures prevail in the structure of Tajikistan agricultural land. Despite the mountainous terrain and the absence of flat arable land, Tajikistan's farms cultivate potatoes, grain, cotton, grapes on the mountainsides. In the southern regions of the country, 2-3 crops per year are harvested and heat-loving fruits are grown: figs, persimmons, tangerines, watermelons, melons. A special area of ​​agricultural production is the cultivation of silkworm - a natural raw material for silk production.

The Netherlands Embassy in Kazakhstan, which is also accredited to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, is planning to organize an agricultural trade mission to Tajikistan in spring 2020, provided there is enough interest.

Participation in the trade mission is open to all Dutch companies active in the agricultural sector: poultry, dairy, animal feed, fruit and vegetables production, fruit and vegetables storages, agricultural consultancy, etc.  

The Embassy would like to propose the following dates for the trade mission to Tajikistan: week 19 (5-7 May 2020) or week 25 (16-18 June 2020).

How to apply

If you are interested in joining the trade mission to Tajikistan, please express your interest by sending an email to ALM-EA@minbuza.nl by Monday, 10 February 2020.  Please also indicate which of the above-mentioned dates suit your schedule best.

The dates of the trade mission will be selected and a Go/No-Go decision will be made based on the number of received expressions of interest.
