Service tariffs for the Halal Product Guarantee Agency regulated

The Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia has finally set a number of applicable service tariffs for the public service agency of the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal – "BPJPH") at the Ministry of Religious Affairs through the issuance of Regulation No. 57/PMK.05/2021 ("Regulation 57/2021"). In general, said tariffs are divided into the following: 1) Main service tariffs; and 2) Supporting service tariffs.

Main service tariffs break down as follows:

  1. Halal certification of goods and services (e.g. regular halal certification processing, the extension of halal certificates, addition of product variants or types and registration of foreign halal certificates) will be charged at Rp. 300,000 – Rp. 5 million per certificate;
  2. Halal examination agency accreditation will be charged at Rp. 2.5 million – Rp. 17.5 million per agency;
  3. The registration of halal auditors will be charged at Rp. 300,000 per person;
  4.  The training of halal auditors and halal supervisors will be charged at Rp. 1.6 million – Rp. 3.8 million; and 5) Competency certification for halal auditors and halal supervisors will be charged at Rp. 1.8 million – Rp. 3.5 million.

Supporting service tariffs comprise tariffs for the use of:

  1. Land, rooms, halls and buildings;
  2. Equipment and machinery;
  3. Laboratories; and
  4. Motorized vehicles. Details on these tariffs will be further regulated under a forthcoming Decree of the Head of the BPJPH.

Regulation 57/2021 has been in force since 4 June 2021.
