The Netherlands is the biggest importer of dried onions from Egypt

Egypt’s export of dried onions has increased significantly in the last years.  According to the recent figures, Egypt ranked third globally in 2019 in the export of dried onion with exports totaling 13.6 tons, after India and the United States.

The Netherlands comes at the first countries to import dried onions from Egypt with 29%, and Germany comes second with 25%.

The Egyptian onions exports in 2019 reached $ 30.4 million, representing 8.1% of the total global exports of dried onions in 2019, according to data released by the UN's International Trade Center (ITC).  Other Countries are considered top dried onion importers from Egypt as Japan (13%), the US (4%) and Croatia (4%).
