Bulgaria is the 12th largest EU country in terms of farmland area: 5 million ha. Renowned for oilseeds, cereals, and medicinal and aromatic plants, Bulgaria is, however, a net importer of fruits and vegetables. This situation is about to change!

Whether it would be the pressure to meet growing domestic demand, to increase competitiveness and to adapt to the climate changes, local farmers seek to modernize and innovate more than ever. The sector will continue to be a priority during the next EU programming period till 2030, bringing significant funding possibilities and institutional support.
