The decrease was due to a 12.0 per cent drop in volumes. The value index of net entrepreneurial income in agriculture in 2020 decreased by 6.3 per cent from 2019.

The value of crop output amounted to 5,076.1 million leva, down by 11.8 per cent on 2019. The decrease was due to a 16.6 per cent drop in volumes, which could not be offset by a 5.8 per cent price increase. The plunge in crop output volumes is largely due to a drop in cereals volumes by 21.2 per cent, caused by lower yields due to prolonged drought.

The output in animal husbandry was estimated at 2,030.1 million leva, almost the same as in 2019, with a slight rise of 0.7 per cent due to an increase in volumes by 0.1 per cent and in prices by 0.6 per cent.

The value of means of production currently consumed in agriculture in 2020 amounted to 4,501.2 million leva, down by 5.8 per cent on 2019. The decrease was due to a 3.7 per cent drop in volumes and a 2.2 per cent drop in prices.

The gross value added at basic prices produced in agriculture in 2020 was estimated at 3,252.8 million leva, down by 11.5 per cent on 2019, due to a 22.8 per cent fall in volumes, which was partly offset by a 14.6 per cent rise in prices.

The value index of income at factor cost decreased by 6.3 per cent, and the net operating surplus dropped by 6.4 per cent due to a decrease in output volumes from 2019.
