InteliFresh 2019 Bulgaria: from the garden to the shelf
On 22 February 2019, InteliFresh brings together in Plovdiv (south Bulgaria) Bulgarian vegetable and fruit growers, large supermarkets, processors, retailers and foreign dealers, as well as suppliers of equipment and technologies of the chain “from the garden to the shop”. With booming 9% increase on a yearly basis since 2015, the fruit plantations are nearly 35,000 ha in 2018, an unheard-off trend in Bulgaria for the last ten years. The production and cherries and plumps grew up so fast, as the capacity of the internal market couldn’t cover it anymore, although with widely opened doors of supermarket chains to local produce.

Aiming at inspiring Bulgarian producers, the 2nd edition of InteliFresh offers an appealing programme with intense discussions and B2B opportunities. The organizers expect nearly 250 participants, which is an increase of 20% compared to 2018.
Global trends of the vegetable and fruit markets, export opportunities for the Romanian market, international quality certification and funding new veggie and fruit endeavours, as well as news technologies for plant protection, procession and storage are in the forum’s agenda. One of the highlights is the discussion about the trade through the new modern channel, with the special participation of METRO Bulgaria, Kaufland Bulgaria and BILLA Bulgaria.
The forum is marked by strong Dutch highlights:
- Reinoud Nuijten from CBI (Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries) presents “Export opportunities for fruits and vegetables on the EU markets”
- Inge Ribbens from Fresh Produce Centre, the Netherlands talks about “The international supply of fruit and vegetables, a Dutch approach”
- ABB Growers will make the presentation “Blue berries: growing, trading and export”
Three B2B sessions provide an excellent platform for networking and liaising growers, dealers and partners of the chain “from the garden to the plate”, with opportunities for concrete deals and signing contracts.
InteliFresh 2019 - from garden to shop shelf is organized by InteliAgro in partnerships with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Bulgaria, DSK Bank, ЕuroFert, METRO, Kaufland Bulgaria and Billa Bulgaria.
