New orchards are being planted in Bulgaria every year with new varieties and techniques being introduced. Areas under sweet cherries increased by 23% during the last five years, reaching 10 800 ha. Plums increased by 29% to 9500 ha, pears – by 29%, apricots – by 6%. Strawberries and raspberries are also on the rise.
