Highlights Agroberichten Buitenland week 14, 2023

Highlights Agroberichten Buitenland is de wekelijkse nieuwsbrief van het Landbouwattachénetwerk. U wordt iedere week geattendeerd op nieuws, activiteiten en achtergrondinformatie van onze landbouwteams die werkzaam zijn op de economische afdelingen van 60 Nederlandse ambassades en/of consulaten en van daaruit 80 landen bedienen. Via de link onderaan kunt u collega's attenderen om zich ook te abonneren.

Benoemingen LNV attachénetwerk 2023

Deze week zijn in het buitenlandse netwerk van het ministerie Landbouw, Natuur en Voedselkwaliteit (LNV) op 6 Nederlandse ambassades nieuwe Raden benoemd. Het betreft Accra, Caïro, Madrid, Mexico Stad en Seoel. De aanwezigheid van het ministerie van LNV op de Nederlandse Ambassade in Kopenhagen zal worden uitgebreid met een Raad ter plekke. Tevens zijn 2 LNV attachés benoemd: in Londen en op de Permanente Vertegenwoordiging (PV) Europese Unie (EU) in Brussel. Alle betrokkenen zullen starten in de zomer van 2023, met uitzondering van de attachéplek op de PV EU: deze benoeming is 1 april jl. ingegaan.

- Luxemburg: ook hier is glyfosaat weer toegestaan

Vanaf 1 januari 2021 gold in Luxemburg een gebruiksverbod op gewasbeschermingsmiddelen met de werkzame stof glyfosaat. De Luxemburgse bestuursrechter heeft nu besloten dat het verbod op glyfosaat niet rechtsgeldig was.

- Rwanda: vibrant and inspiring agricultural PPP conference

The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), the Netherlands Embassy in Rwanda and the TRAIDE Foundation celebrated many years existence of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) program called Sustainable Development Goals Partnerships (SDGP), by organizing an international Linking & Learning event in Kigali on 8 and 9 March. Rwanda was chosen as location for the event. The agricultural office of the Netherlands Embassy played a very active part in the creation of the 3 SDGP partnerships and provided close monitoring along the way.

ASIA - Japan: protein shift boosted by price hikes of eggs and overfishing

As Japan suffers from chicken egg scarcity and price increases, the sales of egg substitutes have increased due to the so-called egg shock, which has seen many restaurant owners stop menu items that involve eggs.
