EUROPE - Frankrijk: doelstellingen voor emissie ammoniak door de landbouw vastgesteld

Op 26 december 2022 heeft de Franse overheid bekend gemaakt wat de doelstellingen zijn voor de reductie van de emissies van ammoniak en stikstofoxide vanuit de landbouw naar de lucht voor de komende jaren.

- Poland: agricultural trade 2022

In January, Wageningen Economic Research and Statistics Netherlands published their report about the developments in the Dutch trade in agricultural products in 2022. Poland remains the 8th export destination for the Dutch agrisector in terms of value. In terms of value of import, Poland ranks 7th when it comes to countries of origin.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expects the Romanian economy to grow by 3.1% this year, supported by European Union funding, currency stability, and foreign investment, allowing it to outpace stagnating neighbours like Poland and Hungary.

- Spain: new indirect tax on non-reusable plastic packaging

Spain has introduced a plastic tax to contribute to fight against climate change and to protect the environment. It includes an excise tax on non-reusable plastic packaging. The new tax will impact most industrial and consumer products businesses. Exceptions are available for packaging of certain medical products.

- Verenigd Koninkrijk: oponthoud verwacht door staking douanepersoneel op Britse zee- en luchthavens

De Britse vakbond PCS heeft voor woensdag 1 februari een landelijke staking aangekondigd. De lokale douaneautoriteiten waarschuwen voor ernstige vertragingen in het logistieke proces in zee- en op luchthavens. De vertragingen zullen naar verwachting duren tot in de middag van donderdag 2 februari.

AFRICA - Algeria: barcode mandatory on imported agricultural inputs and food products

Since 2022, pre-packaged foodstuffs and non-food items intended for human consumption, including agricultural inputs like seeds, fertilizers and animal feed - whether locally manufactured or imported - must bear a barcode. This is in accordance with technical regulations setting up the conditions and terms applicable to the affixing of bar codes on products intended for human consumption. From 29 March 2023 onwards products without barcode will be prohibited access to the Algerian market.

AMERICAS - Argentina: alarming drought, a drop in grain production is expected

Argentina is facing one of the worst droughts in its history: almost 55% of the territory's surface is affected by lack of rain or in conditions of water stress. The high temperatures and the lack of rainfall between the months of September and December have caused a great deterioration of crops. The economic consequences are beginning to be felt in various crops, but all eyes are on soybeans, the country's main export product.

Export Partner B.V., het bedrijf dat het Nederlandse paviljoen organiseert op Foodex Japan 2023, nodigt u graag uit voor een trendtour door Tokyo en voor netwerkevenementen georganiseerd door Export Partner in samenwerking met Denise Lutz, de landbouwraad in Tokio. Deze tour brengt u (begeleid door een marktexpert) door Retail & Foodservice, neemt u mee in het zakendoen met Japan en zal culturele hotspots niet overslaan. De trendtour vindt plaats van 4 tot en met 7 maart 2023.
