Volgens de recent aangetreden directeur Willem Schoustra kunnen de partijen die actief zijn in SeedNL fors bijdragen aan versterking van de ketens in plantaardige uitgangsmaterialen. “En dat betekent weer meer voedselzekerheid in de landen waar we aan de slag gaan.”

De commerciële zeevisserij in de Europese Unie staat onder druk. Biodiversiteit en plaatsing van windmolens krijgen steeds meer prioriteit in Brussel. “Mijn uitdaging is om binnen de randvoorwaarden van natuurontwikkeling en de energietransitie toch ruimte te houden voor de Nederlandse visserijsector”, zegt Carian Posthumus Meijjes. Zij is sinds augustus 2022 als landbouw- en visserijraad werkzaam bij de Permanente Vertegenwoordiging van Nederland bij de Europese Unie.

Zes Nederlandse bedrijven gaan zich als groep richten op bodemverbetering in de Poolse landbouwsector. Op 11 november 2022 tekenden zij een PIB-samenwerkingsovereenkomst met de Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland. Het programma Partners for International Business (PIB) helpt de bedrijven bij hun gezamenlijke plannen.

In de Franse eierindustrie worden jaarlijks zo’n 50 miljoen mannelijke kuikens geshredderd of vergast. Vanaf 1 januari 2023 komt hier een einde aan en zullen er geen mannelijke kuikens voor de productie van schaaleieren meer worden gedood.
