FreeWalk toont potentie vrijloopstallen in Europa

Internationaal onderzoek levert praktische kennis op voor innovatie op het boerenerf. Daarom is het ministerie van LNV betrokken bij meerdere zogenaamde ERA-Netten, waarin nationale en Europese onderzoeksgelden en kennis worden gebundeld. FreeWalk is een mooi voorbeeld van een project dat is gefinancierd onder zo’n ERA-Net.

Radio broadcast Sustainability in Horticulture and the Future of Food

On ocasion of the GreenTech in Amsterdam, Jungle Talks will record, in close collaboration with Holland Horti Media, a special radio program and podcast on sustainability in horticulture and the future of food broadcasted by Paprika Tasty Radio. Unfortunately, it will not be broadcasted live at the Greentech, as announced earlier, due to technical inconveniences, but instead on Tuesday 5 October.

De gevolgen van Brexit blijven komend jaar de agenda van het landbouwteam op de Nederlandse ambassade in Londen bepalen. Philip de Jong is als landbouwraad sinds kort meewerkend voorman van het team. “Aan mij en mijn medewerkers de taak om het Nederlandse bedrijfsleven te informeren over de veranderende Britse invoereisen, maar ook over nieuwe kansen voor handel en samenwerking die zich aandienen.”

- Frankrijk: radioprogramma tuinbouw

Op donderdag donderdag 7 oktober 2021 bespreekt ‘Jungle Talks to the World’ de tuinbouwontwikkelingen in ‘La Douce France’ in een Engelstalig radioprogramma. Ook landbouwraad Martijn Weijtens neemt vanaf de Nederlandse ambassade in Parijs actief deel aan de uitzendingen. Het programma is ook achteraf te beluisteren via podcast.

- Bulgarije: visconsumptie groeit

De verandering op de vismarkt in Bulgarije is echt opmerkelijk. De invoer van gekoelde Griekse vis is vele malen toegenomen in vergelijking met 2010. Nieuwe opslagtechnologieën bieden de mogelijkheid dat deze vis meer afgelegen plaatsen tegen een goede prijs bereikt. Ook grote winkelketens spelen een rol met hun efficiënte logistiek.

- Indonesia: regulations update - Establishing National Food Agency

The government of Indonesia has established the National Food Agency (or BPN – in Bahasa Indonesia) to help stabilize staple food supplies in the country. BPN is tasked to coordinate, formulate and implement policies related to food availability, prices, security, nutrition, diversification and safety. The BPN reports directly to the President.

- Colombia: how to achieve a more efficient use of water in palm cultivation?

Delphy International, FutureWater, Solidaridad Network Colombia & Cenipalma, with the support of the Netherlands government (RVO), carried out a pilot project in one of the most diverse landscapes in Colombia; Magdalena. The demonstration of efficient irrigation systems in oil palm crops developed by Dutch experts with Colombian partners, found that by using drip irrigation techniques, water demand can be reduced, achieving water savings of up to 67%. Every drop counts in adapting to climate change.
