The Dutch IRBC Food Products Agreement is offering a series of 5 webinars on OECD due diligence and company regulations. The webinars will introduce you to the human rights involved and provide you with better understanding on what executing due diligence implies including key interventions to address the risks and adverse impacts in supply chains. Additional regional training on risk assessments in agri-food chains will take place in 2022.

De Vlaamse landbouwsector zal in de toekomst extra inspanningen moeten leveren qua vermindering van de CO2-uitstoot als gevolg van het Vlaamse Klimaat- en Energieplan, dat op 5 november 2021 werd gepresenteerd. Wel kan het daarbij rekenen op flankerende begeleiding vanuit het Departement Landbouw. Vlaams Minister Crevits heeft de eerste contouren van de nieuwe maatregelen en begeleiding geschetst.

Uzbek president, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has exempted poultry and meat imports and sales on the domestic market from VAT payments until the end of 2021 in an attempt to curb the continuing rise in prices. The decision is needed to cool down the domestic market, where a price hike has been seen over the past months, according to the explanatory note to the bill.

This year, Russia supplied agricultural raw materials and foodstuffs to 161 countries, which is more than a year earlier. Export is directly related to the development and improvement of the domestic market, stimulation of investments in the agricultural sector for the production of competitive products.

Het Verenigd Koninkrijk (VK) is al bijna een jaar geen lid meer van de EU. In 2022 krijgen ondernemers bij hun export naar het VK te maken met aangescherpte eisen. Exporteurs van landbouwproducten en levensmiddelen moeten vanaf 1 januari 2022 een vooraankondiging doen.

The webinar Precision farming in Ukraine: opportunities for Dutch business, co-organized by the Agricultural counsellor in Ukraine, Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), and the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB) took place on December 14. During the webinar, Oleh Nesterov, Deputy General Director, committee coordinator (UCAB) presented the results of the survey of the precision farming in Ukraine, and outlined opportunities for the Dutch companies on the Ukrainian market.

The project offers a training programme for women entrepreneurs in the Tanzanian agribusiness sector. Fifteen women-led agricultural enterprises are supported to scale up. It is supported by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency and the Netherlands Embassy in Tanzania, promising established businesses - scale-ups - who face constraints and hurdles and require specialised support and networks to reach their potential.

De verliezen in de Braziliaanse voedselketen lopen op tot 50%. Gekoeld transport, beter uitgangsmateriaal en apparatuur om grondstoffen lokaal te verwerken, kunnen dat verlies fors omlaag brengen. Dat zegt landbouwraad Paul van de Logt op de Nederlandse ambassade in de Braziliaanse hoofdstad Brasília. “De Nederlandse agrofoodsector kan hierbij ondersteuning bieden.”

Mexico en de VS hebben overeenstemming bereikt over een plan dat markttoegang zal verschaffen voor avocado’s uit de deelstaat Jalisco op de Amerikaanse markt vanaf 2022. Tot nu toe was Michoacán de enige Mexicaanse deelstaat van waaruit avocado’s naar de VS mochten worden geëxporteerd. Na Michoacán is Jalisco de belangrijkste avocado-producerende deelstaat van Mexico.
