Recent zijn 3 nieuwe Landbouwraden benoemd op de Nederlandse ambassade in Moskou, New Delhi en Jakarta en een Landbouwattaché veterinaire en fytosanitaire zaken in Peking. Zij zullen, met uitzondering van Moskou, eind 2020/begin 2021 starten. De Landbouwraad Moskou heeft zijn werkzaamheden reeds aangevangen.

De brochure The Plant Health System in the Netherlands die begin 2019 is uitgegeven, is vertaald vanuit het Engels naar het Frans en het Spaans. De brochure is gemaakt door het team Markttoegang fytosanitair van de directie PAV, van het ministerie van LNV.

Water is de belangrijkste beperkende factor in de landbouw van Tunesië, Algerije en Marokko. De afgelopen drie jaren waren heel droog en de watervoorraden in deze landen staan op een zeer laag niveau. Een studie hiernaar wordt uitgevoerd door Acacia Water samen met Salt doctors en lokale experts.
De agrarische sector is de economische motor van Argentinië. Ondanks de moeilijke financieel-economische situatie wordt er toch geïnvesteerd in de voedselketen. “Er blijven daarom kansen voor Nederlandse bedrijven, maar makkelijk is het niet”, zegt landbouwraad Léontine Crisson. Zij is sinds juli 2017 namens het ministerie van LNV werkzaam voor de Nederlandse agrofoodsector in Argentinië, Chili, Uruguay en Paraguay.
