NL is Country Partner of Regional Horti Asia Summit 2021 in Thailand

In the last six years social demand for food and products has been changing. Natural ingredients and pesticide-free products are “hot”. Consumers are more aware of environmental impact and prefer local products with a lower carbon footprint. With coronavirus crisis, this demand is increasing even further (Wouter Verkerke, 2020).

The Netherlands officially confirms to be the country partner of the first Virtual Regional Summit of Horti Asia 2021 and Agri Technica Asia 2021 in Nakorn Ratchasima Province, Thailand this November 16th & 17th, 2021 under the theme “Smart Production For Sustainable Food System”.   

Growers use plant protection products (pesticides) to protect their crops against weeds, diseases and pests. The Netherlands Government supports safe and sustainable crop protection. “Pest Management For Sustainable Horticulture; Experience From the Netherlands” is the topic of the Netherlands Session at the virtual conference on 17th November 2021 (14:30 – 16:00 Bangkok Time). Three Dutch experts will share their knowledge and experience on sustainable pest management.
