Poland: number of ASF outbreaks now higher than 2019

In 2019, the number of outbreaks of African Swine Fever (ASF) reached a total of 48. On August 13, 2020 the number of ASF outbreaks in Poland reached 50. The outbreaks of this week all took place in the east of Poland.

The Chief Veterinary Officer informed about the designation in the territory of the Republic of Poland 42 - 47 in 2020 of an outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in pigs, based on the results of the tests of August 7 and 8 this year. The Chief Veterinary Officer informed about the designation on the territory of the Republic of Poland of 48, 49, 50 in 2020 an outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in pigs, based on the results of the tests of August 11 this year. The outbreaks were found in the Lubelskie Voivodeship in the east of Poland, farms located in the area listed in the Annex to Commission Implementing Decision 2014/709 on animal health control measures relating to African swine fever in certain Member States and repealing Implementing Decision 2014/178 / EU .
 

  • The outbreak of ASF No. 42 in 2020 was found on August 7, 2020 on a farm where 6 pigs (3 piglets, 2 fattening pigs and 1 sow) were kept, located in the town of Gawłówka, in the Michów commune, in the Lubartów poviat, in the Lubelskie Voivodeship, in the protection zone designated in connection with the previously identified ASF outbreak in the town of Gołąb.
     
  • The outbreak of ASF No. 43 in 2020 was recorded on August 7, 2020 on a farm where 10 pigs (9 weaners and 1 sow) were kept, located in the town of Gołąb, in the Michów commune, in the Lubartów poviat, in the Lubelskie voivodeship, in the area of air-contaminated in connection with the previously identified ASF outbreak in Gołąb.
     
  • The outbreak of ASF No. 44 in 2020 was found on August 7, 2020 on a farm where 19 pigs (13 piglets, 5 fattening pigs and 1 sow) were kept, located in the town of Rudno, in the Michów commune, in the Lubartów poviat, in the Lubelskie Voivodeship , in the protection zone designated in relation to the previously identified ASF outbreak in the town of Gołąb.
     
  • The outbreak of ASF No. 45 in 2020 was recorded on August 7, 2020 on a farm where 18 pigs (16 piglets and 2 sows) were kept, located in the town of Horodło, in the Horodło commune, in the Hrubieszów poviat, in the Lubelskie Voivodeship, in the designated protection zone in connection with previously identified ASF outbreaks in the Hrubieszów commune.
     
  • The outbreak of ASF No. 46 in 2020 was found on 08/08/2020 on a farm where 16 pigs (5 piglets, 9 fattening pigs and 2 sows) were kept, located in the village of Pańków, in the commune of Tarnawatka, in the Tomaszów district, in the Lublin province.
  • The outbreak of ASF No. 47 in 2020 was found on 08/08/2020 on the farm where 59 pigs (19 piglets, 16 weaners, 15 fattening pigs, 7 sows and 2 boars) were kept, located in the town of Gorajec Zagroble, in the Radecznica commune, in the poviat Zamojskie, in the Lubelskie Voivodeship, in the infected area designated in connection with previously identified ASF outbreaks in the Radecznica commune.
  • The outbreak of ASF No. 48 in 2020 was found on August 11, 2020 on a farm where 78 pigs (63 piglets, 7 fattening pigs and 8 sows) were kept, located in Gorajec Zastawie, in the Radecznica commune, Zamość poviat, in the voivodeship Lublin, in the protection zone designated in connection with previously identified ASF outbreaks in the Radecznica commune.
  • The outbreak of ASF No. 49 in 2020 was found on August 11, 2020 on a farm where 699 pigs (274 piglets, 365 fattening pigs, 56 sows and 4 boars) were kept, located in Majdan Stary, in the Księżpol commune, in the Biłgoraj poviat , in the Lubelskie Voivodeship.
  • The outbreak of ASF No. 50 in 2020 was recorded on August 11, 2020 on a farm where 6 pigs were kept (1 fattening pig, 3 sows and 2 boars), located in the town of Olchowiec, in the Obsza commune, in the Biłgoraj poviat, in the Lubelskie Voivodeship
