Vacancy Coordinator SeedNL

SeedNL is looking for a coordinator to realize the ambitions of the partnership. The Netherlands Food Partnership (NFP) will host the secretariat of SeedNL. Deadline for applications is on June 21.

SeedNL focuses on how the seed sector in developing countries can be strengthened, and where the sector can potentially expand to emerging economies, improving the productivity of farmers. The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality and the Ministry for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation have launched this innovative public-private partnership with Plantum, the Dutch association for plant reproduction material, as a concrete implementation of their shared ambition to contribute to ending hunger in the world.

The SeedNL partnership was launched in October 2019 at the celebration of World Food Day and a collaboration agreement for four years was signed in February 2020. The focus of this joint effort to establish an “enabling environment” for the seed sector and climate-smart agriculture in developing countries will be on the most vulnerable regions: the Sahel, Horn of Africa and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). This will be accompanied by activities in other countries where significant improvement of the food systems is possible, or a valuable contribution to end hunger (SDG2) can be delivered, amongst others by engaging the private sector.

The partners of SeedNL have asked the NFP to host the secretariat. The NFP is now looking for a SeedNL Coordinator, who will implement the ambitious agenda of SeedNL and accomplish new innovative public-private partnerships in the seed sector.
