The field days were jointly organized by the Netherlands’ projects VegImpact (public – private funded) and VegCap (WUR-led), together with East-West Seed’s Knowledge Transfer Foundation.

Farmers and professionals attended short presentations in the field at the various demo-stations and were informed about different aspects of plant production, such as crop nutrition, crop protection, seedling raising,  comparison of traditional and raised beds method and the use of plastic mulching  in vegetable production  in the event.

In addition the farmers received technical guides for crop protection in local language, with illustrations, for more effective knowledge transfer and there was ample opportunity for exchange and discussions. The Dutch Embassy in Yangon attended  the field day event, which was very much appreciated, with the agricultural counsellor delivering the  opening speech.
