Milestone for Myanmar: The Myanmar Seed Association officially established

Last August and after 3 years of intensive preparations, the Myanmar Seed Association (MSA) was officially established. The MSA represents the interests of private seed companies that are active in Myanmar and has twelve founding members, these members include companies like East-West Seed and more local companies such as Ayeyarwady Seeds and Malarmyaing.

In the run-up to the establishment, the Integrated Seed Sector Development program (ISSD-Myanmar) supported by the NL-Embassy in Yangon, WUR and PLANTUM, the association of seed companies in the Netherlands, ​​played a decisive role. For example, they helped with the drafting of the articles of the association and facilitated meetings of founding members.

In the next months, a strategic plan will be developed for the coming years, containing the plans and activities of the association.
